Did you hear? Tequila flights are the new beer paddles. At least that’s the sentiment the Cambie Malone’s Group hope Vancouverites adopt following the impending launch of their newest establishment.

Connected to Malone’s Bar & Grille on Seymour Street, Chihuahua’s is set to serve a long list of fine tequilas alongside their authentic Mexican cuisine. “This is not what you do shots of in college,” warns a preface on the drink menu. Patrons can choose from white, rested or aged varieties such as El Jimador Blanco (toasted agave notes with hints of fresh citrus), Uno Mas Reposado (coconut custard pie aroma) and Kah Day of the Dead Añejo (hints of coffee, chocolate and tobacco).

A tasting flight ranges from $11 to $18 and comes with a palate cleanser called verdita, made from a cilantro, jalapeño and pineapple puree, as well as a sangrita chaser containing three types of citrus and chilis.

Drinking premium tequila is hard work, so in case you work up an appetite, Chihuahua’s also offers a selection of salad, tacos, burritos and quesadillas in both meat and vegetarian form. If you’re in the mood for a light snack, try the chips and house-made salsa for $4.

Here are some pictures from a preview event held on Thursday night. The restaurant is anticipated to open its doors to the public next week — visit chihuahuasmexicangrill.com for a complete menu.
